BIOGRAPHY
Ulisses Montoni is a renowned Brazilian tenor whose multifaceted career encompasses music, literature and cultural production. A Commander of the Order of Cultural Merit, he began his musical career in the USP Choir in 1998 and furthered his studies at the Municipal School of Music, under the guidance of masters such as tenor Antonio Lotti and bass Carlo Colombara.
MUSICAL TRAJECTORY AND PERFORMANCES
Over the years, Montoni has been a member of several important choirs and vocal groups, such as the São Paulo State Choir, the São Paulo City Choir, the Voz Ativa Madrigal and the Pinheiros Sports Club Choir. His debut as a soloist in operas took place in 2003, in the production of Mozart's The Entrepreneur. Since then, he has participated in several operatic productions, playing characters in works such as Madame Butterfly (Goro), The Merry Widow (Viscount Cascadà), Gianni Schicchi (Rinuccio), Così Fan Tutte (Ferrando), Lucia di Lammermoor (Arturo), Manon Lescaut (Edmondo) and The Elixir of Love (Nemorino). His performance also extended to symphonic concerts, standing out in pieces such as Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, Ramirez's Missa Criolla, Mendelssohn's Psalm 115, Saint-Saëns' Christmas Oratorio and Mozart's Requiem.
RECOGNITION AND OTHER ACTIVITIES
In addition to his contributions to the musical field, Montoni has performed alongside major international names, such as tenor Andrea Bocelli (at the Jockey Club, 2012) and conductor João Carlos Martins (at the Teatro Santander, 2016). His work as a writer, columnist and versionist led him to launch the book Cantos e Contos Musicais in 2021, published by Showtime, and to receive awards from important institutions, such as Contemporânea Projetos Culturais and the Academia de Letras de Santos. Among his literary initiatives, the Portuguese versions of Cantata do Café and Cantata Camponesa, by Johann Sebastian Bach, stand out, presented in Uberlândia-MG.

Since his initiation into the USP Choir in 1998, Ulisses Montoni has built a solid foundation in music, honing his skills through formal studies and specialized mentoring. His career path deepened at the Municipal School of Music, where his theoretical and practical foundations were consolidated, with the support of great names who enriched his education.
MasterClasses
He has participated in MasterClasses with big names on the international scene, such as tenors Luigi Alva and Luis Lima, bass Carlo Colombara, sopranos Verónica Villarroel and Giovanna Casolla and mezzo soprano Bruna Baglioni.
USP Choir
He participated in this choir, which was the starting point for developing his musical interest and skills.

He deepened his theoretical and practical studies, solidly consolidating his musical foundation.

Tenor Ulisses Montoni has been entertaining and moving readers for a long time. In his posts on social media, he often talks about the music industry, the challenges faced by artists, his relationship with music, and many other topics. And the response to these posts led him to write Cantos e contos musicais [Musical Songs and Tales], in which he recounts his 22-year career in music through chronicles, short stories, and memories. “With irony, humor, sarcasm, but also with great passion and sincerity, I recount the most interesting moments of an artistic career in constant improvement. Mistakes and successes were placed side by side in order to present to readers the wonderful imperfection of a tenor – and perhaps they give an understanding of why I love living this absolutely necessary profession, alive and present for those who still seek a little beauty in this insane world. Music is my friend, my passion. I owe it everything good that has happened in my life in these last twenty years,” writes the author in the introduction to the work.
